Endowment Gift

You believe that by working together as equals we can unlock the potential of this and future generations to overcome poverty and advance the rights of women and girls. You believe women, youth and rural poor have a right to equal voice, to live free from violence, to determine their future and reach their full potential. You can help us to make it possible. You can be an agent for change by endowing a legacy gift to Crossroads International.

HOW TO START

When a donor chooses to endow their gift to Crossroads their full donation is invested and provides income revenue that delivers lasting change year after year. Crossroads founders were deeply committed to the notion of One World and this vision continues to guide our work today. Crossroads Endowment Fund was created with a visionary gift from early founder and first board chair Robbert Hartog. The lesson from Crossroads’ founders is the tremendous obligation to carry this work forward, not to simply repeat blindly what had been done before them. They developed new solutions to those challenges and took bold, innovative steps with courage and creativity. Today the fund fuels innovative work to overcome poverty and advance the rights of women and girls.

Your gift will ensure Crossroad continues to develop innovative responses to advance equality in some of the world’s poorest nations. With local partner organizations together we will empower women, youth and the rural poor, who are often marginalized in the economy and left out of the decisions that affect their lives. Together we will create decent jobs and empower women to become leaders and live free from violence. Crossroads also provides donors with opportunities to create named endowment funds. For a gift of $100,000 or more, a fund can be created in your name, your family’s name, or in honour of an individual of your choice. Named fund performance is reported to the fund donors (or families) annually. Crossroads strongly recommends that you seek professional advice to ensure your financial goals are considered, your tax situation reviewed, and your planned gift is tailored to your circumstances.

BENEFITS TO YOU

  • VISION FOR THE FUTURE: An endowed gift allows you to express your vision for the future of Crossroads International mission.
  • STEWARDSHIP: Crossroads prudently manages endowed funds. The Finance Committee regularly reviews the endowment reports as prepared and presented by Crossroads investment firm Genus Capital Management.
  • TAX BENEFIT: You or your estate will receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of your donation which may reduce the tax payable on your final tax return. If your gift exceeds 100% of your net income in the year of your death, the excess tax credit may be carried back to the previous tax year or forward as part of a Graduated Rate Estate plan.
  • RECOGNITION: Your gift can be honoured during your lifetime and you can contribute to or create a lasting memorial for you, your family or anyone you may wish to honour.
