Volunteers in Action: Weaving connections, building the future.

Every year, National Volunteer Week serves as a vital moment to recognize the immense contribution of those who dedicate their time to building a fairer world. At Crossroads International, women and girls are at the heart of our mission—and our volunteers are the driving force that brings this work to life.. Whether they are resource mobilization advisors, HR experts, or communications specialists, their commitment transcends borders to create lasting impact with our local partners.

The 2026 theme reminds us that every act of solidarity is a thread weaving a global web of resilience. Our volunteers don’t just share technical skills; they build cultural bridges, learn from the expertise of our partners, and return transformed by their experiences in eSwatini, Tanzania, Senegal, and beyond.

“I believe climate and environmental issues
are central to gender equality because they shape the daily realities of women and girls. Supporting local partners who share this belief motivates me and gives purpose to my work.” shares Wilver Ongoro, Environment & Climate Change Adaptation Advisor in Uganda.
