Starting February 6th until February 12th, we invite Canadians to celebrate International Development Week (IDW) together, an annual initiative that highlights Canada’s commitment to sustainable development around the world and Canadians working to support international development. International Development Week features hundreds of activities across the country and this year, focuses on five themes, all of which are aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030:
- gender equality
- health
- economic resilience
- education
- climate action

We encourage people from all walks of life to get involved on social media and discover the stories of VCP volunteers and partners who, through their commitment, aim for the Sustainable Development Goals and create impactful change to reduce inequalities around the world.
As global citizens, the SDGs call on all of us to reflect on how to build resilient, inclusive and sustainable societies and economies that benefit all people, while protecting our planet.
To learn more about Canadian solidarity in action, follow our campaign on social media using the hashtags #GoForTheGoals and #IWD2022!
