JOIN US FOR THE 10th ANNUAL DAY OF THE GIRL BREAKFAST
Join us virtually on October 7th for the 10th Annual Day of the Girl Breakfast! Help empower girls to protect themselves from threats of violence, stand up for their human rights, become leaders in their community, and transform themselves from victims of violence into voices for change. This year’s breakfast celebrates a special milestone as this marks the 10th year that this event has taken place. We are pleased to announce that this year’s keynote speaker is the human rights lawyer Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda!
HEAR FROM HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER NYARADZAYI GUMBONZVANDA
For more than 20 years, Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda has worked to advance women’s and children’s human rights, with a special focus on crisis countries and addressing issues of violence against women, peace with justice and reproductive health. She has been a featured panelist and speaker for organizations and universities including the Berkeley Center, The Women Deliver Global Conference and the United Methodist Women’s Assembly, where she appeared alongside former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In 2014, she became Goodwill Ambassador of the African Union Campaign to End Child Marriage, further consolidating her work to end child, early and forced marriage in a single generation.
The Breakfast will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2021 where Gumbonzvanda will discuss how, together, we can fight discrimination against women and girls, end modern forms of slavery including human trafficking and child marriage, and the impact that COVID-19 has had on girls.
To ensure the wellbeing of all our loyal supporters and partners, Crossroads is once again hosting the International Day of the Girl Breakfast as an online event and as a result can expand our reach to even more supporters.
