Main Responsibilities
- Support with the Development and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with current organisational annual targets, including identification and prioritisation of funding sources such as individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Research and track relevant grant opportunities and emerging partnerships, ensuring alignment with FIDA Uganda’s mission and programme priorities.
Support the preparation of high-quality grant proposals and funding applications in collaboration with the fundraising and programmes teams, ensuring timely and competitive submissions.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate University Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Economics, Nonprofit Management, Communications etc
- Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Familiarity with fundraising software and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- At least two years relevant work experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Crossroads International will engage Canadians, Canadian stakeholders, Crossroads staff and volunteers, local partner organizations and women and men in sub-Saharan Africa to become Gender Equality Champions both in Canada and overseas.
The Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) aims to reduce gender inequalities and alleviate poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, and barriers in exercising strategic forms of choice, voice, and influence.

The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA-Uganda), a leading women’s rights organization in Uganda, has been a pioneer in providing legal aid and public legal education in sub-Saharan Africa since its founding in 1974. FIDA-Uganda is dedicated to promoting and defending human rights, with a specific emphasis on the rights of women and children. Guided by a feminist and rights-based approach, our work addresses systemic issues such as patriarchy, injustice, and exclusion, with a focus on empowering marginalized groups, especially women.
As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the sustainability and impact of our programs, FIDA-Uganda is seeking to hire a Resource Mobilization Officer. This role will be pivotal in supporting the organization’s strategic growth by identifying funding opportunities, building partnerships, and developing high-quality proposals that align with our mission of advancing the rights of women, children, and other marginalized groups. The Resource Mobilization Officer will play a key role in ensuring the organization secures diversified and sustainable funding to expand access to legal aid and gender-responsive programming.
Description the volunteer mandate
FIDA Uganda is seeking fundraising specialist to support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, strengthen donor engagement, and build the capacity of the internal team in proposal development. The role is focused on enhancing financial sustainability and supporting the delivery of FIDA Uganda’s mission, vision, and programmes.

- Share the commitment of preventing and addressing sexual misconduct
- The volunteer needs to have their own computer.
- The volunteer must be available to attend an online training.
