Main Responsibilities

  • Capacity development on gender equality management and mainstreaming monitoring and evaluation tools approaches
  • Capacity development of WFF staff on formulating and measuring behavioral change
  • Enhancement of of comprehensive programs analysis reports
  • Strengthening capacity of WFF staff on appropriate use of M&E tools
  • Build capacity of WFF staff on integrated approach to M&E.

Qualifications

  • 3- 8 years of experience in M&E or similar fields
  • Practical experience in Monitoring and evaluation, data management and data analysis skills
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills

Project description and context: 

Crossroads International will engage Canadians, Canadian stakeholders, Crossroads staff and volunteers, local partner organizations and women and men in sub-Saharan Africa to become Gender Equality Champions both in Canada and overseas. 

The Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) aims to reduce gender inequalities and alleviate poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, and barriers in exercising strategic forms of choice, voice, and influence. 

Description of the partner

The Woman Farmer Foundation vision is to identify, recognize, and develop a corps of model women and youth farmers across eSwatini who will inspire and capacitate/ mentor their communities in an effort to mitigate the effects of rural poverty.

Description the volunteer mandate

The M&E specialist will develop the capacity of WFF’s staff on M&E techniques and tool development on integrated systems and approaches. The M&E techniques will enable WFF staff to strengthen their M&E knowledge, critically evaluate the strengths and limitations of current approaches to capacity measurement and design a capacity-building M&E plan that outlines a systematic approach to measuring capacity and assessing the results of capacity-building interventions in projects.

Eligibility criteria 

    •  Be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada. 
    • Willing to conduct fundraising and public engagement activities before, during and after the placement 
    • Share the commitment of preventing and addressing sexual misconduct 
    • In good physical and mental health (medical examination required) 
    • The volunteer needs to bring their own computer. 
    • The volunteer must be available to attend an online pre-departure training 

Personalized support before, during and after the mandate provided by an experienced and welcoming team. The Crossroads’ experience includes the following: 

  • Daily living allowance (depending of the country of assignment)  
  • Plane ticket and local transport 
  • Pre-assignment online training.
