Calgary Shows Up in Force To Make A Difference

On October 23, Calgarians showed up in force to learn more about Crossroads International and to hear acclaimed author and four-time Crossroader Lawrence Hill share how his experience as an overseas volunteer shaped his life and his work from The Book of Negroes to The Illegal. Lawrence Hill urged Calgarians to join us, take action and get involved as volunteers and supporters to help create the kind of change they want to see in the world.

Many thanks to the outstanding organization team including:  Finance Committee member Sarah Scott who generously opened her home to us, Board Member Julianne Osberg and Crossroads volunteer extraordinaire Colleen Mallett for introducing Crossroads International to more than 50 of their friends and colleagues and giving us such a warm welcome.  Won over by Lawrence Hill’s stories of development and his personal engagement, attendees donated more than $15,000 in support of Crossroads International’s work to advance the rights of women and girls.
