“Under the suffocating sun and the shelter of a large mango tree, are gathered kind women with their children. Their reception is generous and we feel welcome. This rural cooperative is designed as a deposit fund in which a general financial deposit can benefit all members. A person can benefit from it by borrowing money as needed. The cash register is metallic and needs three keys to open the padlocks, this guarantees the safety of all members’ money. It is the fruit of the work of APROFES, a Senegalese NGO, a local organization which supports the initiatives of the populations, especially women and young people, through training and awareness programs.”
